The goal of this resource is to describe the most relevant digital repositories as Linked Open Data. Click for resource description using RDF

The Serendipity framework is building a linked data service that in the long run will permit the semantic web community to use the entire stock of OER data, including all authority data.

The Serendipity framework is committed to making a significant contribution to ensuring the stability and reliability of the "linked data cloud" by providing data of high quality.

Using Linked Data Principles, developers can query Linked Dat a from multiple sources at once and combine it without the need for a single common schema that all data shares. Prior to international data exchange standards for data on the Web, it was time consuming and difficult to build applications using traditional data management techniques. As more OER data is published on the Web, best practices are evolving too. By offering RDF as an equal status export format, it allows users and user groups to re-use its data. The service is subject to ongoing further development and optimization at the technical, content and organizational levels.

Besides developing its own service, the Serendipity framework is also actively involved in the OER transition to Linked OER Data Initiative.
