Serendipity

Welcome to Serendipity , the Linked Data for Open Educational Resources (LD4OER) initiative. The initiatives is a collaboration of the Universidad Técnica Particular de Loja, UPM, and the OER World Wide Community, and is funded by diverse grants.

The goal of the initiative is to create a Open Educational Resources, OER Semantic Platform model that works both within individual institutions and through a coordinated, extensible network of Linked Open Data to capture the knowledge and know-how that OER providers and other domain experts and scholars add to educational information resources when they describe, annotate, organize, share, and use those scientific/educational open resources, together with the social value evident from patterns of usage.

Our intent is to do so using existing RDF Schemas, ontologies and Open Source technology.
